Sometimes I don’t get myself: about one year ago I closed all my accounts at various social networking sites, deleted my blog, even removed all my 1000+ photos from flickr.
Now the social-networking bug has bitten me again: I’m putting stuff on flickr regularly, I re-opened del.icio.us & last.fm accounts, started twittering, am blogging in two blogs, using google reader to share stuff I like from the RSS-feeds I read… I even joined friendfeed to bring together all the stuff from all those services in one place…
I am not really clear on why I felt the urge to remove my online personality one year ago. Too much noise? Too little to tell about myself? Poor little Florian in Hamburg all alone (with a few welcome exceptions), unsuccessful in life, insecure, inadequate?
And does my re-immersion into this pool of bits, my new embrace of online social networking mean that I am all better, more secure, able to cope with the noise?
